About the resort

About Dolní Morava

The southern slopes of the Králický Sněžník massif have long been known as very good skiing terrain, mainly thanks to the favourable climate. Fairly high altitudes, heavy precipitation and a position in the heart of the Sudetes mean that the ski season here usually lasts until mid-April. The area had a dozen or so lifts for many years, but it lacked a proper ski resort. Dolní Morava filled that gap, offering skiers modern infrastructure, luxury accommodation and a wide choice of pistes. The resort lies in the upper part of the valley of the Morava river, which rises below Králický Sněžník. A few seasons ago two modern 4-seater chairlifts and several T-bars were built on the eastern slopes of the valley. The highest parts of the resort reach 1,140 m, which brings not only reliable snow cover but also fine views of Králický Sněžník and the southern edge of the Orlické Mountains. Wide red and black pistes run down from the chairlifts' top stations, with blue ones in the lower part of the resort. In total there are more than 10 km of downhill pistes served by 4 T-bars and 2 chairlifts. Particularly worth a mention is a dedicated children's slope with a magic carpet, attractions on the snow and a winter playground. In general the resort is one of the best places for families with children: the resort's own hotel, right below the lift station, has full wellness and pool facilities, there is a children's entertainment programme every day, and you can leave children in professional care while you ski. The resort's appeal is boosted by excellent, modern places to eat, a wide choice of accommodation and one of the longest bobsleigh runs in the Czech mountains. Naturally there is no shortage of groomed cross-country trails either, more than 55 km in total in the area. On a stay of several days in good weather, do not miss a full-day trip to one of the finest peaks of the Sudetes, Králický Sněžník, whose summit offers a fantastic panorama.
