Ramzová is a small village in a deep saddle that separates the Králický Sněžník massif from the main body of the Jeseníky. The most convenient road over the pass (and a railway line too) links the town of Jeseník with Šumperk in Moravia. On the slopes of Šerák (1,350 m) lies one of the oldest ski resorts in the area, also very popular with Polish skiers. By the main road there are large car parks, from which a chairlift starts up to the Čerňava clearing. Here the second section of the chairlift begins, taking you up to just below the summit of Šerák. Along the lift, pistes run down wide cuttings through the forest, both easier ones and some for more advanced skiers. The run from the very top to the car park is more than 3.2 km long, one of the longest in the whole Czech Republic, and full of fine views. The resort naturally has all the facilities, with rental shops, ski service, restaurants and bars; there are guesthouses and private rooms right by the lifts, and the village also has tennis courts. It is worth adding that there are two smaller ski resorts in the area, Petříkov and Ostružná, suitable for beginners and for families with children (together they have 9 T-bars and 6 km of downhill pistes). There is no shortage of cross-country trails in the area either: more than 85 km of them.
