About the resort

About Czarnów-Ski

Czarnów-Ski is a small ski resort near Kamienna Góra, in the Rudawy Janowickie range. Downhill skiing here goes back to the 1960s, and the first lift (a simple rope tow, the kind Polish skiers called an "arm-wrencher") is said to have been brought over from Zieleniec. A resort in roughly its present form was set up at the start of the 1990s. Today it is a small but very pleasant resort, especially for anyone who likes peace and quiet. Its backbone is two T-bars, 700 and 500 metres long. They run parallel to each other up a forest cutting, and three pistes come down from the top. Two of them are red (one along the lift and one in a wide sweep on the left), and one, less steep, is blue. In addition, on the lower, gently sloping part of the hill there is a short lift for children and those taking their first steps on skis. In total skiers have almost 2.5 km of pistes, one of which is floodlit. The facilities are rounded off by a free car park, the recently opened "Zielona Chatka" bar, a first-aid point, a ski hire shop, a ski service and a ski school. Czarnów-Ski is hard to compare with the bustling resorts of the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains) or the Kłodzko Valley, but that is exactly where its charm lies: it is a place where, in an intimate atmosphere, you can get some practice before trips to more demanding ski terrain.
