About the resort

About Biały Jar

The resort is built around a modern detachable Doppelmayr 6-seater chairlift with orange weather hoods. It is certainly one of the most modern lifts of its kind in Poland; the only pity is that it is just 600 metres long, with a vertical rise of 80 metres. Its total capacity is 3,000 people per hour. A piste has been laid out along the lift, with three variants in its upper part branching away from the lift in ever wider curves; together they make up about 2.5 km of skiing, although that figure seems greatly exaggerated. The pistes are floodlit and have snowmaking. Despite its modest size, Biały Jar matters to Karpacz because it is the first new ski area built here for many years, giving skiers hope that it may one day be developed and linked to the terrain on Kopa. For now, though, it operates entirely on its own, which often irritates skiers wanting to get up towards Śnieżka. Naturally, by the valley station there is a car park, a ski hire and service shop, and a ski school. There are also plenty of places to eat nearby. Another important advantage is that from many guesthouses and holiday centres in the middle of Karpacz you can walk here with your skis in a few minutes.
