About the resort

About San Martino di Castrozza

San Martino di Castrozza is a renowned ski resort in north-eastern Trentino, at the foot of the majestic Pale di San Martino range, within the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park. The other ski areas nearby are Col Verde, with floodlit pistes, and Passo Rolle, where a favourable microclimate ensures excellent snow conditions for five months. All of them are covered by the Dolomiti Superski pass. The slopes the pistes run down (60 km in total) look out on the imposing peaks of the Pale di San Martino. Easier runs for beginners are laid out in the valleys, while advanced skiers are drawn to the more demanding Direttissima, Kristiania and Tognola 1. The last of these is a cult FIS piste almost three kilometres long, with a superb panorama of the Pale di San Martino from every section. The San Martino di Castrozza area always guarantees very good snow conditions: around 95% of the pistes have snowmaking, and the rest of the technical infrastructure is also very modern thanks to the recent upgrade of key lifts. Accommodation is plentiful and varied: from elegant hotels to small guesthouses, from cosy bed and breakfasts to apartments to rent. Bear in mind, though, that San Martino is a renowned and fashionable resort, so accommodation and services are inevitably not among the cheapest. In return you get a unique atmosphere, beautiful views and... the delicious cuisine of the Primiero area.
