About the resort

About Hochzeiger

The Pitztal valley lies about 60 km west of Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, next to the Inn valley. The easiest way to get here is by car, on the A12 motorway via Kufstein and Innsbruck to Imst, from where a local road leads to the largest villages in the valley: Arzl, Wenns, Jerzens and St. Leonhard. The Pitztal region has 8,000 beds in all categories. It is mainly associated with the winter sports area on the Pitztal Glacier (Pitztaler Gletscher). The ski season here starts in early October and lasts until early June. Pitztal is not just superb pistes. Cross-country skiers will find professionally prepared trails totalling 50 km, and high-mountain hikers will find ideal conditions for ski touring. The glacier is not the only ski area in the Pitztal valley. Above the village of Jerzens lies the Hochzeiger ski resort (1,450 to 2,450 m). Skiers have 9 modern cable cars and lifts here and about 45 km of well-groomed pistes. The extensive fun park has become a favourite meeting place for snowboarders. Rifflsee (1,600 to 2,800 m) is the third ski resort in the Pitztal valley. The pistes above St. Leonhard are a great place for family holidays, for young and old, beginners and experts alike. Fans of fun carving, ski touring and freeride will find their place here too. There are wide pistes and unique cross-country trails around Lake Rifflsee, which are a big asset for the region.
