Hintertux Glacier in winter 2026/27: will it cost more?

Summer is fast approaching, so I have some news for you about the ski pass prices that will apply in the new winter season on the Hintertux Glacier, and therefore also in all the ski resorts of the Zillertal valley. In the new season the price of a one-day pass has broken through a magic barrier, and the six-day pass is already hitting the ceiling! How many more euros will you have to spend in the Zillertal in winter 2026/27?

Hintertux Glacier in winter 2026/27: will it cost more?

First, a little about the Hintertux Glacier and the resorts of the Zillertal valley. Visitors who come to the heart of Tyrol for a winter holiday can choose between several ski regions, each made up of several resorts.

The choice includes the Zillertal Arena, the largest linked ski area in the Zillertal, with 150 km of pistes… Highly recommended!

On the other side of the valley you will find Hochzillertal, linked with the resorts of Hochfuegen, Spieljoch. In total the piste bashers have to prepare 114 km of pistes here in winter.

In the middle of the valley, around the village of Mayrhofen, besides the famous Harakiri piste there are 142 km of excellent pistes laid out on the surrounding mountains and branded Mountopolis!

You will find videos from all of these regions on my YouTube channel… enjoy watching!

Heading south, we come to the Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000 region, which includes the famous Hintertux. Altogether it has 206 km of pistes, 64 km of them on the glacier itself.

A great winter this spring

I should add that today, 17 May 2026, the glacier is in its spring and summer season, but conditions are typically wintry. A fresh helping of powder has just arrived, and the snow depth on the pistes reaches up to 3 m. There are 11 cable cars and lifts running. The resort plans to stay open until 26 July 2026. If you fancy some winter skiing in spring, I recommend it 😊.

One more important point. If any of you add up the kilometres of pistes I have just listed, the total will in no way match the official figure for the Zillertal valley, which is 546 km. Why… who cares!

The 2026/27 winter season in the Zillertal valley

The 2026/27 season in the Zillertal valley is scheduled to start on 4 December and run until 11 April 2027. Bear in mind that dates may vary from resort to resort. On the Hintertux Glacier the season is due to open, conditions permitting, in mid-September, and the winter ski pass price list will apply from 2 October and remain valid until 7 May 2027.

Hintertux Glacier and Zillertal ski pass prices for the 2026/27 winter season

The first piece of news is that prices are going up, but… not by much, by less than 4%. The one-day pass has broken through a magic barrier: from October an adult will pay €82, a youth €65.50 and a child €37. What interests us most, though, is the price of a six-day ski pass. Here we will have to take four €100 notes out of our wallets, but… we will get change in the form of a €1 coin. A youth will pay €319 and a child €179.50.

Remember that when you buy a ski pass you have to pay a €2 deposit for the keycard, the physical card.

Finally, one more important piece of information. If you decided to go skiing now, a one-day adult ski pass costs €68, and six days of skiing on the glacier cost €327, plus of course the €2 deposit.
