The mountain village of Les Diablerets lies at the foot of the impressively large glacier of the same name. It is an excellent choice for all winter sports enthusiasts and for those who want to relax and get some fresh air on a winter holiday. This popular ski area in the heart of the Vaud Alps is very varied. On the glacier you can ski all year round, apart from a few weeks. Lower down there are both typical leisurely runs and slopes for more ambitious skiers (among them the Jorasse World Cup piste). Overall, though, intermediate pistes predominate in this region. Freeride terrain is found at Combe d'Audon and Pointe Arpille, among other places. The area is also interesting for cross-country skiers. The trails run on three levels: the lowest are the trails of the so-called Parc des Sports, higher up is the superb plateau of Les Moilles, and the top level is the glacier trails, where an easy loop awaits cross-country skiers at 3,000 m. Other reasons to come here are 7.5 km of toboggan runs and a practically unlimited range of other winter sports, including mountaineering, snowshoe tours, ice skating and curling. Without doubt one of the biggest attractions is a trip onto the Les Diablerets glacier, which is crossed by tracked vehicles. The village of Les Diablerets itself, with majestic peaks on the horizon and extensive forests all around, has an exceptionally peaceful atmosphere.
