Photo: ON Henryk Ski. The small, family-friendly Henryk-Ski resort is an interesting option for all beginners, families with children and those who would like to start learning to ski but would rather not do so at large, crowded resorts. The resort is right in the centre of Krynica, on the eastern slopes of Góra Krzyżowa. Since 2016 it has had two four-seater chairlifts, a 420-metre T-bar and a conveyor lift for beginners. The resort has been expanding step by step since 2014, when the lower chairlift was built, at that time 450 metres long. A year later it was extended by 200 metres, which also lengthened the pistes along the lift. In summer 2016 a second chairlift was built above the first, with its top station almost at the summit of Krzyżowa Góra (812 m). This created a piste more than 1,300 metres long along the lifts, the longest in Krynica apart from Jaworzyna Krynicka. Its upper part is aimed more at advanced skiers, while the lower part is ideal for beginners and the youngest skiers. At the valley station there is a ski hire shop and a well-organised ski school. The school has two separate short T-bars where you can take your first steps on skis in peace. The resort also has a short magic carpet for the youngest. It also has its own accommodation: two guesthouses 50 and 300 metres from the lifts, as well as the large, stylish regional inn "U Krakowiaka". Cars can be left in the public car park next to the inn, or in the one near the top stations of the lifts, on Piękna Street. The family atmosphere, the lack of crowds, the nice view of the centre of Krynica and the proximity of the town's main attractions will surely appeal to families with small children. On the other hand, the resort may soon change its gentle, family character dramatically, as a chairlift and a considerable extension of the pistes are planned in the near future.
