About the resort

About Folgarida Marilleva

Photo: skionline.pl. Folgarida lies within the famous Valley of the Sun, the Val di Sole, the largest ski region in western Trentino. A great many sunny days a year combined with some of the heaviest snowfall anywhere in the Alps make the Val di Sole, set beautifully at the foot of the 3,000-metre peaks of the Gruppo di Brenta and the Adamello massif, an ideal place for a winter holiday. The ski resort of Folgarida sits at an altitude of 1,300 m among the forests of the Val Meledrio, on the road linking the Val di Sole with Madonna di Campiglio. Together with nearby Marilleva and Madonna di Campiglio, Folgarida forms the largest linked ski area in the Val di Sole. Skiers have a total of 120 km of pistes served by 44 lifts (24 of them in Folgarida and Marilleva and 20 in Madonna di Campiglio). The resort is particularly good for a family holiday, as 50% of the pistes are gentle slopes ideal for children and beginners, 36% are intermediate and only 14% are black. Most of the pistes run through forest at altitudes of 900 to 2,180 m, and more than 90% of them have snowmaking. Folgarida is one of the better-known ski resorts in the Val di Sole. The number of pistes and the high standard of their preparation are impressive. Even at the height of the season it is not crowded, and the pistes are long and varied. As in Marilleva 1400, there is direct access to the slopes here too, and you can ski right to the door of your hotel. In the evenings, night owls can choose from plenty of discos, pubs and restaurants.
