About the resort

About Mladé Buky

Mladé Buky is a small, modern ski resort in the foothills of the Krkonoše, on the road from Trutnov to Janské Lázně and Pec pod Sněžkou. It opened a few years ago and is a typical recreational resort, ideal for families with children. It also suits beginners very well. Because access is very easy, it can be a great alternative to the mountain resorts during heavy snowfall. And thanks to a very efficient snowmaking system and the gentle gradient of its pistes, the snow lasts surprisingly long here. All the pistes are on the northern slopes of Pekelský vrch (583 m), from below whose summit broad, gently inclined slopes fan out, with mostly wide and easy pistes. They are served by seven T-bars and one chairlift, and the pistes total almost 5 km. Almost all of them are floodlit, which is exceptional among Czech ski resorts. By the lifts there is a restaurant, a rental shop and a ski service. An extra attraction is a bobsleigh run served by a lift of its own. All in all, compared with the nearby Krkonoše resorts, it is rather modest, but it can be a good practice area, especially as crowded slopes and lift queues are rare here.
