About the resort

About Černá hora

Černá hora has the only 8-seater cable car in the Czech Republic and downhill pistes of every difficulty level. The pistes are among the longest in the country (up to 3 km long). More than 50 km of trails are prepared for cross-country skiers, and sledging fans can use an exceptional run called Černohorská sáňkařská cesta, 3.5 km long. In the evenings you can ski on the Protěž piste (1,600 m). In 2015 a new 6-seater chairlift, Hofmanky Express, the fastest in the whole Czech Republic, opened to skiers. It is the first stage of linking this area with neighbouring Černý Důl. SkiTour: by ski and piste basher from Černá hora to Pec pod Sněžkou. Just take the cable car on the Janské Lázně to Černá hora section, ride a piste basher for about 300 metres and ski 3 km down the Černá hora to Pec pod Sněžkou piste. It is the first link of its kind in the Czech Republic, letting you ski at Černá hora in the morning and at Pec pod Sněžkou in the afternoon. Skicentrum: a new place to rest, with a children's corner, close to the Formanek piste. SkiRelax: a place to rest, with a children's corner and the Bistro&Restaurant na Lanovce, at the top station of the Černohorský Express on the summit of Černá hora. The Černá hora resort (Janské Lázně) is part of SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA - PEC, a ski region with a joint ski pass for the resorts of Černá hora (Janské Lázně), Pec pod Sněžkou, Černý Důl, Velká Úpa and Svoboda nad Úpou. SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA - PEC offers varied ski terrain with downhill pistes totalling 41 km (75% of them covered by snowmaking). It has 1 gondola, 7 chairlifts, 30 T-bars and 3 magic carpets. In four of the five resorts skiers can try a timed giant slalom course. Černý Důl, with its modern KIDpark, is ideal for children learning to ski. SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA also grooms 90 km of cross-country trails regularly. You can ski in a different area every day, choosing from dozens of kilometres of downhill pistes of varying difficulty and length. The eastern Krkonoše is the only place in the Czech Republic where you can ski at five resorts on one ski pass. In season, skiers travel between the resorts of SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA - PEC on ski buses running on 3 main lines, and there is also a network of so-called CITY buses in Janské Lázně, Pec pod Sněžkou and Černý Důl. Three ski bus lines take skiers to the places where night skiing is available.
