Sölden prices for 26/27: how to plan your trip without overpaying

Hello! As a keen skier I always follow the news from the biggest Alpine resorts with interest. Today I want to take you to a place that proudly, and fully deservedly, calls itself "The Heart of the Alps": Sölden in Austria. I have just gone carefully through its updated offer and price lists for the 2026/2027 season. I will tell you one thing: a superb winter lies ahead, but if you do not want to overpay, you need to know a few key rules. I have put together a complete guide to the new offer for you!

Sölden prices for 26/27: how to plan your trip without overpaying

Why is Sölden a skiing paradise?

Before I get to the numbers, I have to remind you why it is worth coming here at all. Sölden is the ultimate sporting base, where your heart beats faster both on perfectly groomed slopes and in deep powder. Here you will find two mighty glaciers (Rettenbach and Tiefenbach), the spectacular BIG3 viewing platforms and the famous film installation 007 ELEMENTS on the summit of Gaislachkogl. Interestingly, the village also has the highest density of sports shops in the whole of Austria, which makes it a paradise for fans of the latest gear.

What impresses most, however, is how reliable the snow is and how long the season lasts. Just imagine: in the coming 26/27 season the lifts here will run for more than seven months, from 25 September 2026 all the way to 2 May 2027!

A celebration of skiing: the Alpine World Cup opener

Sölden is not just pistes for amateurs, it is also a legendary arena where the very best compete. This is where the opening of the Alpine Ski World Cup (AUDI FIS Ski World Cup Opening) traditionally takes place. This season the big sporting drama on the very steep glacier is scheduled for the end of October! On Saturday 24 October the women race in giant slalom, and on Sunday 25 October the men compete in the same discipline. This remarkable weekend officially opens the season for the professionals and every year draws crowds of fans, creating the unique atmosphere of a great sporting festival.

Sölden's golden rule: buy earlier, pay less!

Before I throw actual figures at you, I have to share the most important trick, which follows directly from the resort's policy. Sölden sells its passes using dynamic pricing. The rule is simple: the sooner you buy your ski pass online, the lower its price. By booking early you can save as much as 22%! The pool of cheaper tickets online is available until no later than 5 days before your first day on the slopes. If you miss that moment and buy 4 days before your trip (or at the ticket office on site), you will pay the maximum rate. You can collect your ski pass quickly and without queueing from special machines that work 24/7 (where no deposit is charged) or at ticket offices and partners (where a deposit of €3 per card is added).

What if the unexpected happens? Cancellations, accidents and lost passes

As we know, anything can happen in the mountains, so I studied the terms and conditions carefully for you.

First of all: can we cancel or exchange a ski pass we have bought? As standard, we have no right to withdraw from the purchase of a ski pass and get our money back. There is, however, a great and safe way around this. When booking your ski pass online, you can add an optional cancellation protection upgrade, which costs just €3 per ski day. With it, if something unexpected happens, you can cancel your booking completely free of charge and get a full refund up to five days before the first day the pass is valid. And you do not have to give any reason! Just remember that this insurance option can only be added while placing your order online. After that point, or without the protection, an exchange or refund is not possible.

What if illness or an injury on the slopes strikes?

If you have a sports accident within the Sölden resort, you can get a refund for the unused days of your ski pass by presenting the rescue service's operation report at the ticket office. The refund is calculated from the day after the accident. Bear in mind that one-day and half-day tickets are not refundable, and any costs of the rescue operation are deducted from the amount. In addition, only the injured person is entitled to a refund, not the people travelling with them. If you lose your ski pass, a duplicate costs a €50 handling fee, provided you show proof of purchase. The resort does not refund costs in the event of loss or theft.

Autumn and spring: a foretaste of winter on the glaciers

If you cannot wait for the frost, Sölden welcomes you to its glaciers as early as the start of autumn. In the periods before and after the main winter, the ski pass is valid on the glacier terrain, but its price includes free access to the scenic Ötztal Glacier Road, which is normally a toll road.

  • Early autumn (25 September to 14 October 2026): A one-day ski pass costs €61.50 at the ticket office.
  • Autumn (15 October to 11 November 2026) and spring (19 April to 2 May 2027): 1 day of glacier skiing costs €75.00 at the ticket office.

Real winter, the power of the Ötztal Super Skipass and a price comparison The main winter season starts on 12 November 2026 and runs until 18 April 2027. The ticket office price list is split into three seasons: low (Vorsaison), main (Hauptsaison) and peak (Topsaison). I have compared the current prices with those of the previous season (25/26) for you. On average, base ski pass prices have gone up by exactly 4%.

If you opt for a short 1-day or 2-day trip, your pass is valid in Sölden only. Going by the ticket office price list, an adult pays for 1 day:

  • Low season: €81.00 (for comparison, in the 25/26 season it was €78.00)
  • Main season: €84.50 (previously €81.50)
  • Peak season: €86.50 (previously €83.00)

Things get really interesting on longer trips. If you buy a pass for at least 3 days, your ticket automatically becomes the mighty Ötztal Super Skipass. What does that mean? You get unlimited access to every ski resort in the whole Ötztal valley, including Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, Hochötz-Kühtai, Vent, Niederthai and Gries! For a 6-day ski pass bought at the ticket office window you will pay:

  • Low season: €450.00 (for comparison, in the 25/26 season the price was €432.50).
  • Main season: €469.00 (previously €451.00).
  • Peak season: €478.50 (previously €460.00).

Special extras for skiers

I have saved the real icing on the cake for last. If you buy a pass for at least 6 days, Sölden gives you free entry to the James Bond world of "007 ELEMENTS" mentioned earlier and a ticket to the excellent motorcycle museum "Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum" in neighbouring Hochgurgl.

To sum up: for the 26/27 season Sölden offers huge possibilities and excellent infrastructure. My advice for this season? Plan your trip in advance and grab up to 22% off ski passes online. Add protection to your basket for a modest €3 a day in case your plans change, and once there, simply enjoy every kilometre of piste in one of the finest valleys in the whole of the Alps. See you on the slopes!
