Winter walks in the Wildkogel-Arena Neukirchen & Bramberg

Crisp winter air, blue sky, crunching snow: these ingredients are all you need to immerse yourself in the winter nature of the Wildkogel-Arena. A snowshoe tour on the scenic Wildkogel with guide Harald leads past picturesque reservoirs, through deep fresh snow, to the Gensbichlalm mountain station and a fantastic view of the snow-covered Dürnbachtal valley. Down below lies the Steineralm, the destination of another group winter hike through a snowy spruce forest.

On snowshoes we set off for the summit of the Plattenkogel, 2,000 metres high, from where the Zillertal Alps feel within arm's reach. Quietly and calmly, accompanied by a national park ranger, we set off on a hike into the unspoilt Sulzbachtäler valleys of the Wildkogel-Arena. The Untersulzbach waterfall and the Blausee lake take centre stage on these tours in the winter sunshine.

In spring, with experienced mountain guides and ski tourers, we set off for Salzburg's highest three-thousander, the Großvenediger.
