Hochoetz: not just for families (Vlog324)
In 2025 I started the New Year on skis in Hochoetz in Tyrol. It was another part of my project of visiting every ski resort covered by the Ski plus City Pass Stubai Innsbruck ski pass. Hochoetz is one of those Tyrolean resorts that sit somewhat in the shadow of the region's biggest and best-known ski resorts.
Which is a shame, because it has plenty to offer: good terrain for families and intermediate skiers, modern lifts, high-altitude pistes and beautiful views of the surrounding Ötztal Alps. In this vlog I show what skiing in Hochoetz is like in mid-season, what the pistes, lifts and infrastructure are like, and whether the resort is worth including in a ski stay around Innsbruck. It is also another episode of my journey around the resorts covered by the Ski plus City Pass, a single ski pass that lets you combine skiing at many resorts around Innsbruck and the Stubai Valley with sightseeing in the Tyrolean capital.
