About the resort

About Szwajcaria Bałtowska

Bałtów, in the picturesque valley of the Kamienna river, is one of the most interesting places in the eastern part of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. Over the last dozen or so years an impressive complex of tourist attractions has grown up here, including a dinosaur park with research and scientific facilities, a wildlife park, a prehistoric oceanarium, a 5D cinema, a witches' village, an amusement park with a rollercoaster and several other attractions. The ski resort is also an integral part of the complex: small but very modern, and a perfect fit with the family character of the whole complex. The ski slopes lie on the eastern side of the edge of the Kamienna valley, where the river makes a huge loop around the Zarzeczański Ridge. As a low-lying area (the top station is only 200 m above sea level!), it has been equipped with a modern, efficient snowmaking system, and all the slopes are floodlit. The backbone of the area is a recently built four-seater chairlift with a capacity of 2,400 people per hour; there are also two T-bars and two short button lifts serving the ski school area. Six similar, wide and gentle pistes lead down; the longest, from the top station of the chairlift over the T-bars down towards the car park, is 700 metres long. One of the newer facilities is the rental shop next to the slope, which in the 2013/2014 season was equipped with new Elan skis and Burton snowboards. The tourist complex also has accommodation, a restaurant and two bars. Despite its modest size and its location in upland rather than mountain terrain, Bałtów and its ski resort are an important point on Poland's winter map. It is an ideal place for beginners and for families with children, who will find plenty of varied attractions here that no other ski resort in Poland offers. It is also worth noting that Szwajcaria Bałtowska (the official name of the resort) is one of the most aesthetically pleasing resorts in Poland, where everything is well thought out and, most importantly, functional. So we definitely recommend it!
