About the resort

About Nosal

For many years the northern slopes of Nosal were considered one of the best ski areas in Zakopane, especially after a (single-seat) chairlift was built here in 1967 and a slalom slope, perhaps the best in Poland, was laid out alongside it. From the late '90s, however, Nosal's star seemed to fade, and a few years ago the chairlift was closed because of its technical condition. Since then Nosal has mainly been a training area for the youngest. On the wide, gently sloping ground below Nosal there are now five T-bars, 150 to 250 metres long. All the pistes are training slopes. It is worth noting that turning the whole resort into the largest training area in Zakopane has made it possible to focus on refining the system for teaching the youngest skiers. Today the resort below Nosal offers the most comprehensive ski teaching in Poland. The lifts are well served by facilities: large car parks, inns, restaurants, equipment rental shops and ski services. Adults, of course, can take their first steps on skis here too, not just children. Every year the Puchar Misia Stramusia (Teddy Bear Stramuś Cup) is held for the youngest skiers, one of the largest events of its kind in Poland.
