The village of Weremień, a few kilometres south of Lesko, is known locally as a small but very pleasant ski spot, especially for beginners. The lifts and pistes are on the northern slopes of the Gruszka massif (583 m), one of the more prominent peaks of the so-called Lesko Foothills (Przedgórze Leskie). The low altitude is offset here by a more continental climate, which in winter brings lower temperatures than at similar altitudes in the more westerly parts of the Polish mountains. The resort itself consists of two parallel lifts with pistes on either side: one 680 metres long, the other 730 metres. They have a fairly even profile, a little steeper at the top and almost flat lower down. They have snowmaking and floodlighting. By the lifts there is a small hotel, as well as a restaurant, equipment rental shop, ski service and ski school. The resort is very family-oriented and is ideal for taking your first steps on skis or improving in the early stages of learning. While in the area, it is worth visiting nearby Lesko with its historic synagogue, Jewish cemetery, the castle of the Kmita family and a picturesque little market square, and seeing Kamień Leski, a few kilometres east of the town: a massive sandstone outcrop celebrated by Aleksander Fredro, among others. A few kilometres north of the town stretch the Słonne Mountains (Góry Słonne), good terrain for trips on touring skis or backcountry cross-country skis.
