About Kamienica

Photo: SN Kamienica. The Kamienica ski resort, in the Śnieżnik Massif near Stronie Śląskie, was built from scratch in 2002. It occupies two opposite slopes of the Zawada ridge, which separates Nowa Morawa from Kamienica. Initially there were three T-bars here, 270 to 460 m long, each with a piste covered by snowmaking. In the 2013/14 season a four-seater chairlift was built in place of one of the T-bars (on the Nowa Morawa side). The new lift, made by Tatrapoma, is 391 metres long with a vertical rise of 86 metres. Its capacity is 2,400 people per hour. Once it opened, the resort's total capacity rose to 4,380 people per hour. The piste along the chairlift is floodlit for evening skiing, while the lift on the Kamienica side has a timing system for a marked 300 m course. Also on the Kamienica side there is somewhere to eat (a stylish inn), as well as a ski hire shop, a ski service and a ski school. Kamienica is above all a place for skiing with family and friends, for children and those learning to ski, and for those who want to spend winter weekends in peace and quiet in the fresh air. On the Nowa Morawa side, near the chairlift, there is a hotel, a good base for skiers. Since 2013 Kamienica, together with Czarna Góra (the project leader) and the resort in Lądek-Zdrój, has formed the Ski Region Śnieżnik, with joint ski passes being introduced step by step and ski buses connecting the resorts.
