Spytkowice lies in the central part of the Podhale Range, broad, flat ridges filling the depression between the Babia Góra range and the Gorce. Geographers count this part of the Polish mountains as the Beskid Żywiecki, but Spytkowice has nothing to do (and never had anything to do) with the Żywiec area as such. So it is not wrong to group this resort, for practical reasons, with the nearer Gorce or Podhale. The ski station itself lies on the north slopes of Łysa Góra (704 m), on the main ridge of the Podhale Range. Thanks to its proximity to the main road (no. 7) to the border at Chyżne, it is one of the most accessible ski resorts in the whole of Lesser Poland. The ski area is built around a 4-seater Doppelmayr chairlift with a loading conveyor, almost 600 metres long with a vertical rise of 135 metres. Its capacity is just under 2,200 people per hour. Alongside the lift runs a wide, gentle piste with a characteristic narrow section in the forest, ideal for beginners and children, while a second, slightly longer piste sweeps down in a wide curve on the right (looking downhill). In the upper part of the slope there is also a T-bar with a short piste beside it, and at the bottom there is a ski kindergarten with a short button lift for children. The whole resort has a family feel and is an ideal place to learn to ski. What stands out is how complete the resort is: next to the lift there is a hotel with a pool and wellness facilities, as well as a restaurant, a ski hire and service shop, a ski school and a mountain rescue (GOPR) post. A cross-country trail also runs along the ridge of Łysa Góra, all with beautiful views of the Babia Góra massif and, from the ridge, of the Tatras too.
