Monte Bondone

Pistes spread over seventy hectares, 90% of them with guaranteed snow (topped up by snow cannons), views of the Brenta Dolomites, forests and quiet. Not only downhill skiing, but also cross-country skiing on the large loop of the Viote plateau, snowshoe walks and a snow park for snowboarders. Monte Bondone is Trento's own mountain, a district full of snow and unspoilt nature. Monte Bondone is a delightful mountain. For children it has cosy playgrounds next to the pistes. Various activities are also organised for children, such as night walks with torches led by Alpine guides and ski courses for the youngest. Last year a new snow park opened at the foot of the famous "Pista Cordela". The snow park's special attraction is the new "superpipe", a huge structure 120 metres long and 18 wide, with a gradient of 30% and walls 5.5 metres high! Those who stay loyal to downhill skiing should remember the "Gran Pista", 3.5 km long with a vertical drop of 800 m, linking Fortino and Malga Mezzavia. It has been completely rebuilt and renamed the Trentino super piste, the Superpista del Trentino. It is one of the favourite attractions for regulars at Bondone, a mountain just 15 km from Trento. Those who prefer cross-country skiing should try the 35 km loop in the hollow of the Viote plateau, among fir and larch forests.
