An authentic village at 1,500 m, ideal for families, and a modern resort at 1,800 m at the foot of the pistes: Valmeinier offers a ski area linked with Valloire (150 km of pistes, 83 runs, 33 lifts). This vast expanse of freedom covers 4 superb mountainsides, the highest reaching 2,600 m. With all the charm of a traditional village, "little" Valmeinier jealously hides the assets of a "big" resort under its blanket of snow. New for winter 05/06 * Expansion of the snowmaking network. * Construction of the Maison de Valmeinier, with lift ticket offices, administrative services, luggage storage, a fitness centre and a kids' club. Worth seeing * 18 March 2006: the 13th Press'Purée Contest, a festival of downhill sports, skiing, snowboarding and rock'n'roll.
