About the resort

About Les Portes du Mont-Blanc

Combloux, near the renowned ski resort of Megève, is part of the large Evasion Mont Blanc ski area, which has a total of 460 km of pistes and also includes resorts such as Nicolas de Veroce, St Gervais, Les Contamines and La Giettaz. The ski area around Combloux covers 100 km of pistes. Without taking your skis off you can reach the pistes around Megève, which add another 169 km of runs. The slopes around Combloux mostly offer pleasant, relaxed skiing with beautiful views, including of the Mont Blanc massif. The resort holds the P’tits Montagnards label, awarded by the Ski Club of France to resorts that specialise in family holidays. Besides many activities for young children on and off the slopes, this also means ski areas and lifts adapted specially for children, professional care and instruction in ski schools and ski kindergartens, and family and child discounts. There are not many cross-country trails right next to Combloux (a few kilometres), but you can easily ski over to the trails around Megève, where cross-country skiers have 70 km of trails in total. Combloux was once a prosperous farming village. Today it has almost merged with nearby Megève, the most exclusive ski resort in Savoy, while keeping its own distinct character. Combloux's range of sports away from skiing is essentially the standard set found in French winter sports resorts. The network of winter walking paths is exceptionally varied and extensive, and it offers beautiful views as well. Those looking for more unusual activities can go to Megève, only 4 km away, where you can even play snow polo. Visitors who want to party hard after skiing should do the same. Combloux, a rather quiet and traditional place, may be a little too dull for them. Its homely, peaceful character is, however, appreciated by visitors who come here for a family holiday.
