About the resort

About Rauriser Hochalmbahnen

Rauris, one of the oldest villages in the Eastern Alps, lies in the heart of SalzburgerLand, less than 30 kilometres east of the well-known resort of Zell am See. The ski season here starts in December and runs until mid-April. The family-friendly slopes, at altitudes from 950 to 2,175 m, are ideal for beginners and intermediates. Two gondolas take passengers up the mountain, where there are easy blue pistes. More experienced skiers will enjoy the valley run down towards the valley station of the Hochalmbahn. In total the resort has 32 kilometres of pistes (15 km blue, 12 km red and 5 km black). Besides the gondolas, visitors can use a chairlift and seven T-bars. Rauris is one of the 25 resorts covered by the Salzburg Super Ski Card. Besides downhill skiing, the area has many other attractions. There are freeride and cross-country routes nearby, and alternatives to skiing include snowshoe hikes, tobogganing and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
