Atomic Cloud: performance meets elegance

The Atomic Cloud collection is one of the most successful on-piste ski offerings for women. As part of the brand’s #sheskis initiative, the Austrian ski manufacturer is reworking the line for winter 2020/21, introducing new performance-enhancing features and a new, flattering look for the ski models. The top-of-the-line model, the Cloud 12, is also equipped with the new Atomic Flite Woodcore, which is particularly light and agile. In addition to the well-proven Servotec technology, Atomic relies on two titanium inserts above and below the core, offering smooth runs as well as good damping properties and torsional stiffness. The Cloud ski line combines performance with an elegant look and is aimed at female skiers of all levels.

Atomic Cloud: performance meets elegance

The Cloud series is continuously tested and developed by the Atomic women's team. The collection is part of the brand’s #sheskis initiative, in which Atomic sets a particular focus on female skiers for the 2020/21 season. With numerous new products, the brand equips women from head to toe and offers everything they need for a successful day's skiing, from helmets to ski boots and from goggles to skis, whether on the slopes, all mountain or when touring the backcountry.

#sheskis is supported by a unique series of events, offered throughout the season in various ski resorts across the Alps.

Leading the pack of Cloud ski models, the new Cloud 12 is a no-compromise technical ski for women wanting performance first. The brand relies on the proven Servotec technology that is also used for the top racing ski Redster G9. Named after the German word for power steering, "Servolenkung", this high-end technology is a dynamic system that uses compression and decompression to boost the ski’s flex and keep it stable on straight lines. The Servotec rod on top of the ski is under tension and the elastomer connected to it underneath the binding is compressed. As the ski bends into a turn, the compression in this elastomer relaxes. It rebounds like a spring, pulling the rod with it. This supports the flex of the ski and makes steering lighter and quicker, just like power steering. Then on straights, the rod and elastomer dampen bumps and swallow negative swings, keeping steering firm and stable when skiing straight at high speeds.

Atomic manufactures the Cloud 12 with its brand new Flite Woodcore. This particularly supple and lightweight wood core ensures an agile feeling while keeping the ski's weight to a minimum. The Full Sidewall runs across the full length of the ski and thereby delivers pressure directly to the edges. This allows the ski to be controlled precisely and particularly easily. The Austrian ski specialists also rely on their Titanium Powered technology. Two titanium inserts are placed above and below the ski core to ensure effective shock absorption, strong running stability and high torsional flex.

The patented punched topsheet is a trademark of the series and reveals the aluminium layer underneath. This creates a high-quality, textured finish.

On top of that, Atomic presents its new Cloud 14 WB (Widebody) for the 2020/21 season. This model has a wider waist and thus promises superb handling in changing slope conditions.
