Skiing in Innsbruck: Nordkette and Patscherkofel (Vlog321)
🎿 Skiing in the Tyrolean capital? I put Innsbruck to the test! Can you combine the feel of an Alpine city with proper skiing?
In this vlog I show that you can! I visit Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, and check out two completely different ski resorts that sit literally above the city. The first stop is Nordkette, a small but spectacularly located resort towering over Innsbruck.
A quick ride up from the city centre, steep and demanding pistes and stunning views of the Inn Valley give the place a character of its own. Short, intense runs and raw Alpine terrain: an ideal option even for a few hours on the slopes. On the other side of the city I visit Patscherkofel, a more modern resort known for hosting races at the 1976 Winter Olympic Games.
This is where the best skiers in the world competed. Today you can ski the Olympic run yourself, with modern infrastructure and wide, sporty slopes. It is my first visit to both resorts: I check the conditions, the infrastructure, the atmosphere and whether you really can ski practically in the city centre.
Which resort impressed me more? Is Innsbruck the perfect mix of a city break and skiing? Enjoy watching! ❄️⛷️
