About the resort
About Šachtičky
The ski resort, with difficult, intermediate and easy pistes, lies on the slopes of Panské dielo (1,102 m), the westernmost peak of the Low Tatras. Its location near Banská Bystrica (the centre of central Slovakia), easy access and varied terrain are the main assets that make it a popular destination, especially at weekends. In a narrow valley west of the resort lies the village of Špania Dolina, known as a heritage reserve of folk architecture and famous for its beautiful bobbin lace. By car it can only be reached from Banská Bystrica.
