About the resort

About Mosty u Jablunkova

Mosty u Jablunkova is one of the ski resorts in the Czech Beskids closest to the Polish border. It lies above the large village of the same name, on the western slopes of Fojtský grúň (700 m). The pistes give a fine panorama of the eastern end of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, towering over the broad Jablunkov Pass. The main road from Cieszyn to Žilina runs over the pass, as does the main railway line linking the two towns, so this is one of the few ski resorts you can reach by train. The ski area consists of several parallel T-bars with pistes running alongside them. Because they wind among clumps of forest, the runs are remarkably varied despite the small size of the area. Red pistes dominate, including one fairly wide one that is ideal for carving. There is also a separate lift for children and beginners. In total there is just over 2 km of pistes served by four T-bars. In the lower part of the resort you will find a restaurant, a rental shop, a ski service and a free car park. A big attraction is the bobsleigh run, one of the longest in the Czech Republic, which descends in big hairpin bends from halfway up the slope. All the lifts and pistes are floodlit, so night skiing is easy.
