Snowpark, BIG Family and free-riding skills - this is the Stubai Glacier
On the Stubai Glacier, a paradise lies in store not just for beginners and the more advanced but also for professionals too. The Snowpark Stubai Zoo is one of the top snow-park locations in the Alps and in the coming season will be going one better by adding a 300-metre-long Jibline with its own park lift (zoo shuttle). In the autumn and spring, the whole terrain, with the pro, medium, jib and easy line, is one of the largest snowparks in the world and features plenty of sunshine combined with unique mountain panoramas. From 17 to 20 November, the snowpark will be ready with another highlight. The world’s elite of freeskiers will come together at the fifth edition of the F.I.S. Freeski World Cup Stubai, with the finale on 20 November being broadcast live on the Austrian television channel ORF1.

BIG Family is the varied family programme on offer on the Stubai Glacier. From toddlers upwards young novice skiers to teenage skiers will all find the appropriate offer to suit them including a children’s restaurant and nursery. Other highlights include the BIG Family Slalom and the BIG Family Boardercross as well as the Big Family Fun Slope. They make your first metres on a board tremendous fun. The programme on offer in the winter is supplemented by the Slopestyle on the Eisjochferner - a snowpark made for families and novices. In addition to the ten-kilometre-long valley descent "Wilde Grub‘n", numerous blue, red and black pistes and various ski routes, one of the top free-ride areas in Austria also awaits. The Powder Department on the Stubai Glacier covers 13 runs in open, unsecured terrain with its own off-piste map, checkpoints, route videos, avalanche transceiver-checks and avalanche warnings signs.
