Team Auto Eder is officially the U19 junior team of the UCI WorldTeam BORA - hansgrohe. "Since the company was founded in 2007, it has been our concern to provide the best possible support for young and ambitious racers by offering them the perfect environment to develop without pressure but in a targeted manner - and to find a connection to professional cycling in the long term. Well-known professionals, such as Michael Schwarzmann or Georg Zimmermann, have already completed our junior school and have shown that it is a successful model," emphasizes team manager Ralph Denk. The youngsters receive professional support and premium equipment and therefore the eight young cyclists from Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland, Denmark, Estonia and the Czech Republic also enjoyed a training camp in Ötztal.
As part of the tourism cooperation between the BORA - hansgrohe professional cycling team and Ötztal Tourismus, the young riders of Germany’s top team set up their training tents in Niederthai last week. They were also accompanied by MTB and road world champion Laura Stigger on cross-country skis.

Ötztal valley is not just an Eldorado for skiers, mountain aficionados, cyclists or mountain bikers. There are no less than 25 cross-country ski trails spread across Tirol’s longest side valley, including the large cross-country ski center in Niederthai with perfect snow conditions. And that's exactly where the young BORA - hansgrohe team riders trained last week. As a prominent training colleague, Laura Stigger also strapped on her cross-country skis. "It was great fun and the guys are in top shape. We spent a splendid day in Niederthai and reeled off quite a few kilometers. For me as an Ötztal native, cross-country skiing or ski touring in winter are the perfect preparation for a hard and long season. And what’s best, I can do it right on my doorstep. After the first training camp I will head towards South Africa in January. I can hardly wait for the start of the new season, but there is still a lot of work in order to be fit for 2023," Laura states.
