Winter 2020/21 - Inspired by the demanding runs and high speeds of the FIS World Championships, Smith developed the new Icon helmet to allow racers to stay focused on the finish line knowing they’re backed by maximum protection.
Designed for podium-worthy performances, the Icon offers FIS-approved protection in a low-profile, advanced ABS shell construction formulated specifically for high speed impacts while providing extended coverage around the head. Smith further incorporates multiple internal construction materials to meet the demands of racers on the FIS stage, including:

- Internal Aerocore™ construction featuring the superior impact-absorbing benefits of Koroyd® throughout to protect under extreme speeds and conditions.
- Engineered EPP inserts at the front of the helmet for dual density construction that allow for multiple gate impacts.
- The Icon also features a multi-directional impact protection system (MIPS®) lining that allows the helmet to rotate slightly relative to the head during impact, reducing rotational forces that the brain is exposed to during oblique impacts to the head, and is a leading cause of concussions.

For slalom disciplines, the Icon also has a compatible and removable nylon chin guard (sold separately).

An intuitive strap system featuring Fidlock® buckle offers easy-to-use adjustability for getting the helmet on and off through the use of a magnetic closure that can be adjusted with one hand while wearing gloves. The adjustment system also eliminates any leftover webbing when tightening the strap.

By utilizing a plush lining with XT2® anti-bacterial performance, the Icon provides complete comfort while the ear pad construction reduces noise interference while on course. The Icon is designed for ultimate integration with Smith goggles to eliminate fogging during hard runs.

The new Icon and it’s youth version - the Icon Jr. conforms to FIS RH 2013 requirements, and will be available Fall 2020 at select specialty retailers and online at
